WCR Recruitment 2025 : The West Central Railway (WCR) has announced a massive opportunity for youth with the release of Notification No. 01/2025 (Act Apprentice) for the training year 2025-26. Under this recruitment drive, the Railway has invited online applications for 2,865 apprenticeship slots across its various divisions and units including Jabalpur, Bhopal, Kota, CRWS Bhopal, WRS Kota, and HQ Jabalpur.

The application process will be conducted only through online mode on the official WCR website www.wcr.indianrailways.gov.in. The online registration will start from 30 August 2025 and will remain open till 29 September 2025 (11:59 PM). Candidates are advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

This recruitment has been launched under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, which aims to provide hands-on skill development training to eligible youth in different trades of Indian Railways. The apprenticeship does not guarantee a permanent government job but provides a significant platform for skill enhancement and industry exposure within the Railway sector.

According to the notification, applicants must be 10th pass with a minimum of 50% marks and must also hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT. The age criteria set for this recruitment is 15 to 24 years as of 20 August 2025, with relaxations applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen categories as per Government of India rules.

The selection of candidates will be done through a merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Matriculation and ITI. There will be no written exam or interview. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and medical examination at the respective units.

The Railway has also clarified that candidates must upload their documents carefully, including photographs, signatures, and certificates, in the prescribed format. Any mistakes in details or documents may lead to rejection of application. Additionally, no hostel facility will be provided, and selected candidates will have to arrange their own accommodation during the training period.

With a large number of slots distributed across different units — 1136 in Jabalpur Division, 865 in Kota Division, 558 in Bhopal Division, 151 in WRS Kota, 136 in CRWS Bhopal, and 19 in HQ Jabalpur — this recruitment offers a golden chance for ITI pass-outs across the country to gain practical skills and Railway industry experience.
